Where can I see my statement and balance?
Statements are issued monthly. You can view balances and submit queries via the Ithemba App or the email on your statement.
Late payment interest & penalties
Interest/fees may apply to arrears per your lease. Pay by the stated due date to avoid charges.
Can I withhold rent for issues in my unit?
No. Please log a ticket for any issues. Withholding rent can lead to arrears, interest, and lease action. (Your lease governs remedies and processes.)
Water & sewer billing
Water is billed based on metered consumption (or fair-use allocation where applicable) plus sewer recovery aligned to consumption. Billing may be post-paid as municipal readings can lag.
Why am I billed after I’ve vacated?
Utilities often arrive in arrears. Final utility charges posted after move-out will be reconciled against your deposit. Any balance/refund will be processed per the lease timelines.
Deposit interest
Deposits are held in an interest-bearing trust account (as required by law). Interest accrues to the tenant less permissible admin fees, reconciled at termination.
Bank charges/utility admin/CID/refuse
Applicable bank charges, utility admin, refuse, and any precinct/CID levies (where applicable) are itemised on statements.
